Introducing PsychFlex

Modern Digital Therapy for an Evolving Digitized World

I am excited to share that I have decided to incorporate an exciting new therapy app called PsychFlex into my online practice. With your consent, you can opt in to using this app in which I can share useful therapy tools, educational content, and surveys to help you collect data regarding your progress as an adjunct to our therapy. The goal of using PsychFlex is to keep the therapy process going in between our sessions. The content I share will be a combination of my own published content from my ACT Yourself self help course, and content created by other ACT therapists and researchers.

PsychFlex was created by Dr Steven Hayes, who is widely known as the primary developer of Relational Frame Theory (RFT) and the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach. His vision is to make ACT more collaborative and accessible to clients and to help measure progress on a day to day basis. The app was first made available to ACT therapists to use with their clients in August 2023 and it is continually being added to and improved upon. Part of making PsychFlex available to my clients also meant that I gained closer access to Dr Steven Hayes and his webinars and training programs, which means that it also helps me to continually hone in on my own clinical skills and grow more as an ACT therapist. Bringing PsychFlex into my practice also means keeping up with the modern digital world and the demand for a more interactive and engaging therapy process that is not restricted to the therapy session.

PsychFlex will be made available to all of my clients, however at the end of the day it is completely up to the individual client if they feel comfortable downloading and using the app. PsychFlex is HIPAA compliant but I fully understand anyone’s concerns about using the app. If you choose not to use the app, it will not negatively impact your therapy experience. It is truly meant to be an add on to the existing therapy process, in any case that you wish to continue engaging with ACT in between our sessions and measuring your progress.
